From the circle of the firelight
To the shadows that lay beyond
Watching weres that are with us
And even those that have gone
Helping when its needed
And even when its not
Having someone there for you
Sure helps us out alot
We've been through hell together
Many times, in fact
But one thing to remember
We watch each other's back
Though we don't admit it
Nobody likes being alone
We may fight among each other
But the pack defends its own

Running silently thru the night
Not knowing wrong from right
With my instincts that I let guide
By my own laws, I do abide
Running free, wind in my fur
So fast, my sight a blur
Remember back, last time when
I let loose the wolf within

-Wolfmage

This popped into my mind while walking home in a storm one night.
I look out across the field
and howl forth my challenge to the storm
to share its power with me
the thunder rumbles, lightning strikes
the answer rains down upon me
I raise my arms to the sky
and drink that which I need
Wolf howls in triumph as my bonds are broken
the shift overcomes me
instinct takes hold and I run
but not to get away from this life
but to share it with my family

Wolfmage

Wandering through the shadows, feeling all alone.
Looking all around me, searching for a home.
I've traveled over rough terrain,
through forests and across plains.
Facing my trials without a pack
seems the greatest of my pains.
Yet, this old wolf moves on,
with muzzle to the sky.
He knows no one would answer
still he howls, head held high.
The night grows cold and lonely
as I lay in the moonlight,
dreaming on those far off thoughts
to keep me warm at night.
As I lay my head down, I heard a familiar sound.

A howl built up inside me, and I cautiously held it down.
I perk my ears and listen to the call of the pack.
Looking deep inside my self I think,
"Should I answer back?"
